In creating Autism Momisms, I envisioned more than just a story. I envisioned a place to share knowledge through all of our respective experiences.
Whether you have children on the autism spectrum, or whether you have children at all, my hope is everyone will be able to relate to my words and find a renewed strength in promoting awareness. Today, 1 in 110 children are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, yet it still remains a puzzling epidemic we’ve yet to fully understand. It will take all of us banding together to become the assertive voice our children really need.
We all face our share of challenges, and through them all, it is possible to live the beautiful life we all deserve. It’s only a matter of opening our eyes, gaining the proper perspective and working together as a cohesive community.
To the right, you’ll find links to my writings. Above, you can learn more about Autism Momisms and find links to the resources I’ll cover. I hope you’ll all be patient as my work-in-progress unfolds. Thank you for reading and I hope you’ll continue to follow along on my journey.

Wonderful blog!
Thanks for visiting, Ourmomspot.
My son has a problem in the spectrum. But I also am in the spectrum do you know of any other adults that are well functioning and have children themselves in the spectrum? I’m looking for help not just for my child but for myself also. Thanks
I’ve met both. Some parents show no signs of the same spectrum behaviors as their children and some do. I do find a lot of parents who aren’t necessarily in the spectrum, but have other difficulties, such as ADHD, OCD or even depression. So far, I have yet to find any miracle cure that completely combats the affects of Autism Spectrum Disorder. I will say that my daughter does best when she’s heavily active during the day, not consuming a heavy amount of food coloring or sugar and sleeping very well at night. Sorry I can’t offer more advice. Hopefully we can discover something that works by continuing to share our knowledge.
